This Cheoy Lee Clipper 36 is a Cutter Ketch rig, a rare choice by the builder as an alternative to the single mast. Her masts are built of Aluminium, because they are more modern than the original wooden ones, and will last longer. That means that you can rest-assured that your spars will stand the test of the ocean’s winds.
Her decks are built of Teak layen longitudinal and transverse, because the longevity along with the shear beauty of the wood, have made Teak the choice decking for many shipyards long before synthetic materials were used to offset Today’s cost for the rare expensive wood. That means that with timely maintenance, and a little love and care you can have her decks gleaming in the sun, with a bright finish used by the most expensive yachts of the day.
Inside she is just as beautiful. With her full Teak interior, the feeling of luxury and past voyages are forever ingrained, and will bring comfort when lonely crossing’s take there toll. The head, plumbed for shower will be a relief from the daily onslaught of the sun, and can easily fit a tall person with room. The galley includes a propane oven, gimbled for ease of use at sea. That means that you can easily cook your meals while making passage in heavy weather.
When crossing ocean’s, it is the over-whelming gear, rigging, and sails that help make the passages safe and successful. Because with her Wind-vane wheel steering system, she can sail herself while you are below tending to other matters. That means that when single handing at the sea, the Wind-vane steers the boat to the wind automatically, giving you freedom of movement aboard.

This boat is a Cutter-ketch with a Mast-head Rig, and 635 sq. feet of sail area. She has 5 Sails, Including Main Sail, Jib, Stay-sail, Mizzen, 3 others.
Hull:
She has a Full-keel. The Hull is Hand Painted, and is in needs minor touch-up condition.
Eingines:
1 Perkins 4-107 Diesel Engine, 50 horse power with moderate Hours.
Gear:
4 operating sail (Main, Mizzen, Jib, Stays'l) all in good to excel' condition, second set of sails in fair condition, main and jib storm sails (heavy/double sewn). Motor is Perkins 4 107 Diesel maintained in excellent shape with some new parts (water and injector pumps, etc.). Sleeps 5 on 5" new cushions fully covered (3 in main cabin & V birth in forward cabin). Galley has sink w/fresh water hand pump, gimbaled propane stove with oven, custom flatware storage drawer. Masts are aluminum (rare) and maintenance free and running rigging in excellent condition includes four deck winches, 3 mast and belay stanchion at mast step. Numerous snatch blocks and deck tracks, and assorted gear, 2 spruce 8ft down wind poles. Small hard dinghy is included. (pea pod)
